Dejando Huellas - Leaving Footprints

My friend Jose is starting a program this year called Dejando Huellas in Toncontin, which is my neighboring community and where he grew up. It will be a high school for teens in Toncontin and the surrounding communities. Although the majority of kids graduate from the elementary school, many teens are not able to go to high school because of the distance of the high schools or financial reasons.

The program not only will provide a Christian education for the students, but they will also learn Bible, English, computers, music, mechanics, cosmetology and carpentry, to improve their living conditions and help them find a job. With this educational opportunity that we provide, it is possible to reduce the percentage of young people that are victims of drugs, alcohol, or laziness currently present in the communities.
There are currently 34 teens that have the opportunity to study in this high school that they would otherwise not be attending, as well as keeping them out of the street and from getting into trouble.

Jose has a huge heart to serve God in this way by serving his community and to provide an alternative life for the teens that will help them not only study, but will also provide them with a future.

The high school program that he started this year was supposed to include free books for the students, but he recently found out that we now need to pay for them.
If anyone is willing to support a student by helping with the cost of the books please send me an email at kaitlenhenry@gmail.com so that I can get you more information.
