It’s crazy how we can so easily get caught up with life.
Sleep. Cook. Study. Work. Study. Cook. And Sleep again.
It’s crazy how quickly our focus can get shifted, how we can
almost completely forget about our creator and what he has done for us.
It’s crazy how we only run to him when we have problems.
But that is how he draws us back to him, in the problems, He
is there. He is faithful and he is our strength.
The goal is not to leave the storm, the point is find Him in
it. To depend on Him in it.
I have seen many
quotes through out my life that say that the storms make you stronger, or that
the good comes after the storm, or even that the storm is where you learn,
where God tests you and where you get closer to him. But until recently I
didn’t understand those quotes for myself and now they have become true in my
life.
Find rest, my soul, in God alone.
I find my hope in him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation.
He is my fortress
And I will not be shaken.
Psalm 62
Through the crazy, he is my hope. I seek hope, seek peace in
Him.
He is my fortress, the one I run to in the morning because I
know what is coming at me through the day. If I don’t walk through it with him,
I know I will not survive the day.
Only in Him we find rest, only in him do we have peace.
Dependence.
It should be constant, but we base it on our circumstances.
When things go well we push him to the side, he becomes just a Sunday thing.
Dependence. He is teaching me dependence.
I got caught up in my
fast paced, but calm lifestyle. Now through this storm God is showing me that
he has been here this whole time, and that it is crucial to invite him into my
daily activities, to depend on Him throughout the day.
